Ghanaur (Punjab), October 27, 2025: Carrying forward the vision of Shiromani Akali Dal President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Youth Akali Dal has launched a major humanitarian initiative to support flood-affected farmers in Punjab.
Under this effort, wheat seeds covering 200 acres were distributed to farmers in the village of Chamaru, Ghanaur constituency. The campaign was led by former MLA S. Harpreet Kaur Makhamelpur and MGPC member S. Jasmer Singh Lachhru.
Youth Wing President S. Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, who was present on the occasion, said that S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has always treated public service as his foremost responsibility.

“Whether it is the suffering of flood victims, the hardships faced by farmers, or any issue concerning the welfare of the people, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji has always stood in solidarity with the people of Punjab,” he said.
Recalling S. Badal’s personal efforts during the floods, Jhinjer noted that the Akali Dal President had visited affected families and provided essential supplies, including diesel, ration, and fodder for livestock. “He is truly the son of Punjab who shares the pain and struggle of every Punjabi,” he added.
Jhinjer informed that under Badal’s guidance, Youth Akali Dal members visited various villages, mobilized resources and wheat seeds, and officially launched this campaign from village Chamaru. Seeds have been distributed to cover over 200 acres of farmland, and the initiative will soon expand to other villages across the Ghanaur constituency to assist more needy farmers.
Jasmer Singh Lachhru and S. Harpreet Kaur Makhamelpur lauded the youth’s commitment, stating that this campaign reflects the true spirit of service and unity. “Collecting seeds from their own resources and distributing them to farmers in distress demonstrates the compassion and dedication inspired by S. Sukhbir Singh Badal Ji’s leadership,” they said.
They emphasized that under S. Badal’s guidance, the Shiromani Akali Dal continues to be the true voice of Punjab’s farmers, labourers, and the weaker sections of society. “This initiative proves that Akali Dal is not merely a political organization, but a movement rooted in the emotions and needs of the people,” they added.
