HUMANITY IN ACTION : SSK Trust steps forward to sponsor fees for 150 flood-hit students
Ferozepur, November 2, 2025: In the wake of devastating floods that hit the border areas of Ferozepur, many families lost their homes, livelihoods, and farmlands, leaving them unable to afford their children’s school fees. To ease their burden, the Satnam Sarb Kalyan (SSK) Trust), Chandigarh, and Give and Grow Foundation have extended generous support to students affected by the floods.
Inspired by Dr. Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary), under the ‘Each One Adopt One’ campaign, the Trust has paid over ₹2.5 lakh in school and board examination fees for 150 students of Classes 10 and 12 studying in three government schools — Government Senior Secondary School Dhira Gharha, Dona Mattar, and Nau Bahram Sher Singh. This step ensures that no student is deprived of education due to financial hardship.
Earlier, the Trust had also provided stationery, school bags, and other essential supplies to more than 2,000 students from 14 flood-affected schools.
Trust founder and noted philanthropist Jasjit Singh Malik stated that education is every child’s fundamental right, and it is the moral responsibility of society to support such humanitarian causes. “Helping people during natural calamities like floods is not just financial assistance—it is a symbol of hope and encouragement for students,” he said.
Appreciating the noble initiative, Dr. Satinder Singh remarked that such efforts play a vital role in building an educated and progressive society. He emphasized that charitable organizations and donors should increasingly focus their contributions on education and healthcare to drive meaningful social development.
On this occasion, school Principals Prem Singh, Satish Kumar, and Gurvinder Singh expressed their gratitude to the Trust. The smiles on the faces of the students and their parents reflected their heartfelt appreciation for the organization’s timely help.
Prominent Trust members including Amritpal Singh, T.S. Bedi, Ashok Behal, Dashmesh Singh Sethi, and Bhupinder Singh Chhabra were also present at the event.
