Tarn Taran (Punjab), November 14, 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has clinched a sweeping and decisive victory in the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election, marking a powerful endorsement of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s governance and Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership.
The resounding mandate signals Punjab’s firm approval of AAP’s development-focused, transparent and people-first politics.
Celebrating the win at the party headquarters, AAP Punjab In-charge Manish Sisodia said the bypoll outcome shows that Punjab has once again rejected Congress, BJP and Akali Dal. “Despite not being in power, Congress leaders made arrogant statements and underestimated Punjabis. People have answered them with this historic verdict,” he added.
The Tarn Taran verdict completes AAP’s clean sweep across three contrasting constituencies—Ludhiana West (urban), Jalandhar West (Dalit-majority) and Tarn Taran (panthak Sikh-majority)—underscoring the party’s growing acceptance across every demographic, region and community.
At a press conference in Chandigarh, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, flanked by Cabinet Ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar, Hardeep Singh Mundian and Barinder Goyal, said the verdict is a “direct stamp of approval” on the Mann Government’s work over the past three-and-a-half years.

He said Congress’s divisive caste and religious narratives and its derogatory remarks against Dalits backfired completely, while the BJP’s attacks on Punjab and Punjabiyat were decisively rejected.
“If this was the semifinal for 2027, then AAP has won it hands down,” Arora said. “The 2027 final will be an even bigger victory.”
Arora expressed gratitude to Arvind Kejriwal, CM Mann, Manish Sisodia, AAP ministers, MLAs, workers and especially the voters of Tarn Taran.
Sherry Kalsi: People Stand Strongly With Mann Government
AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi said the victory reflects the people’s satisfaction with the government. “Every seat matters in a democracy, and this win shows the people are firmly with the Mann Government.”

Victorious candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu held a massive thanksgiving roadshow in Tarn Taran with Sherry Kalsi. He assured voters of tireless efforts for the constituency’s development and committed to prioritizing all pending and upcoming work.
