Punjab disburses Rs 17 crore in a single day under Mission Chardi Kala to support flood-hit families

Chandigarh, November 14, 2025: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, continued its extensive relief campaign Mission Chardi Kala, providing financial assistance to families affected by floods and heavy rains. On Thursday alone, the state disbursed over ₹17 crore to beneficiaries across multiple districts.
As part of this statewide effort, Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains distributed crop compensation worth ₹2.26 crore to flood-affected farmers of the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency at village Jindwari.
Detailing the distribution, Bains said:
- ₹72.12 lakh was given to 70 farmers of Sub-Division Sri Anandpur Sahib
- ₹58.89 lakh to 101 farmers of Sub-Division Nangal
- ₹89.68 lakh to 35 farmers of Sub-Division Rupnagar
In Ajnala (Amritsar), former Cabinet Minister and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal provided ₹5.86 crore in compensation to 1,330 farmers.
An official spokesperson stated that this was the fourth consecutive day of Phase 3 of the relief distribution drive. The government distributed compensation letters worth ₹40 lakh to affected families in Bhaini Kadar Bakhsh and Pasan Kadim villages of Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala).
Further distributions included:
- 380 beneficiaries in Talwandi Sabo and Maur under Mission Chardi Kala
- 80 beneficiaries personally handed sanction letters by Chief Whip Prof. Baljinder Kaur at Talwandi Sabo
- 300 affected residents in Maur provided relief by MLA Sukhbir Singh Maisarkhana
In Dharamkot, MLA Davinderjit Singh Ladi Dhos distributed ₹5.83 crore to 1,350 beneficiaries.
In Ferozepur Urban, MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar distributed ₹1.05 crore to families of Kamal Wala (Muthianwala) and Bala Megha villages.
In Fazilka, MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna provided ₹1.57 crore to farmers in Shah Hithar (Gulaba Bhaini), one of the worst flood-hit areas.
The spokesperson highlighted that Punjab is offering the highest flood compensation ever provided by the state, ensuring that every affected family receives support transparently. The revised compensation rates include:
- ₹40,000 for house damage (increased from ₹6,500)
- ₹20,000 per acre for crop loss
- ₹37,500 per milking cattle, ₹32,000 per non-milking cattle, ₹20,000 per calf
- ₹100 per poultry bird
The Punjab Government reaffirmed its commitment to rebuilding lives and supporting every family impacted by floods across the state.
