Sukhjinder Randhawa sends legal notice to Navjot Kaur Sidhu, seeks public apology

Chandigarh, December 9, 2025: The internal rift within the Punjab Congress has escalated sharply, with senior party leader and MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa serving a legal notice to Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, wife of former minister and ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu. The move comes after Dr. Sidhu levelled serious allegations against Randhawa during a recent TV interview.
According to the notice issued through his lawyer, Randhawa has demanded that Dr. Sidhu issue a public apology within seven days, failing which he will initiate strict legal proceedings against her.
The controversy erupted after Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu accused Sukhjinder Randhawa of having connections with gangsters, a claim that immediately intensified political tensions in the state.
Randhawa, responding swiftly, dismissed the allegations as false, baseless, and defamatory. He asserted that such statements have caused serious damage to his public reputation and political career, falling under the category of defamation.
In the legal notice, Randhawa has emphasized that he will not tolerate attempts to malign his image and has warned of strong legal action if the public apology is not issued within the stipulated timeframe.
