Dr Rajiv Prashar assumes charge as Civil Surgeon, Ferozepur
Quality healthcare for common people will be top priority: Dr Prashar
Ferozepur, December 26, 2025: Dr Rajiv Prashar on Thursday formally assumed charge as the Civil Surgeon of Ferozepur. He was accorded a warm welcome by all programme officers and staff of the Civil Surgeon’s office, who presented him with bouquets.
Dr Prashar began his service in the Health Department in November 1995 at Ferozepur itself as a Medical Officer. During his long career, he has served in various key positions and has been instrumental in providing quality healthcare services to the public. He has also rendered his services as District Health Officer in Kapurthala district.
After taking charge, Dr Rajiv Prashar said that his main objective is to ensure the effective implementation of all government health programmes and to provide better healthcare facilities to the public through Aam Aadmi Clinics and government hospitals. He added that he has held a meeting with the staff to review various health programmes.
Issuing a stern warning to food adulterators, Dr Prashar said that adulteration in food items will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and all possible steps will be taken to ensure that people get pure and hygienic food.
He further said that the Health Department will intensify awareness campaigns about the harmful effects of drugs and ensure proper treatment for patients in de-addiction centres. Special priority will be given to women patients, senior citizens and children in government hospitals. Efforts will also be made to ensure that patients visiting government health institutions in Ferozepur do not have to spend money from their own pockets. He directed the staff to maintain cleanliness and work with dedication.
