Ferozepur Rail Division records Rs 23.97 cr during April to Dec 2025 from ticket checking
Ferozepur, January 3, 2026: The Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway has achieved a significant boost in revenue through intensive ticket checking drives, earning ₹2.56 crore in December 2025. This marks a notable 17% increase compared to ₹2.18 crore collected in December 2024 and slightly exceeds the division’s target of ₹2.55 crore for the month. From April to December 2025, the division has generated a cumulative revenue of ₹23.97 crore through ticket checking, reflecting a 13% growth over the corresponding period in the previous year.
To curb unauthorised travel, the division’s ticket checking teams and chief ticket inspectors conducted regular checks in trains. During December 2025, action was taken against 36,516 cases involving ticketless travel, irregular ticketing, unbooked luggage, anti-littering violations, and smoking-related offences.
In addition to ticket checks, efforts to maintain cleanliness at railway stations continued. Regular inspections at major stations aim to prevent littering and raise public awareness. In November, over ₹65,000 was recovered from 416 passengers under the Anti-Littering Act.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Sanjeev Kumar stated that the Ferozepur Division is committed to ongoing ticket checking campaigns to encourage passengers to travel with valid tickets, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to railway rules.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini attributed the success to the dedication and persistent efforts of the ticket checking staff. He added that the division will intensify these drives in the future to further increase revenue while ensuring a safe and disciplined travel environment for passengers.
