Lt Governor of Delhi Taranjit Singh Sandhu addressed the India-Japan Conclave held on Friday, where senior leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders highlighted the deepening strategic partnership between India and Japan, built on shared ambition, mutual trust, and a common vision for the future.
Speaking at the conclave, Sandhu emphasized that Japan’s technological expertise and steadfast collaboration have played a transformative role in India’s urban development journey. He noted that the partnership between the two nations continues to drive innovation in infrastructure, mobility, and sustainable urban planning.
The success of the Delhi Metro was cited as a landmark example of India-Japan cooperation, demonstrating how Japanese support and advanced technology have contributed to the creation of world-class urban transport infrastructure in India. Discussions at the event also focused on next-generation smart and sustainable mobility solutions aimed at strengthening India’s rapidly expanding urban centers.
Special emphasis was laid on emerging hubs such as Dwarka, which were described as having immense potential to evolve into dynamic centers for Japanese innovation, investment, and enterprise. Speakers observed that such collaborations could significantly boost economic growth, urban sustainability, and technological advancement.
The conclave further underscored that the expanding India-Japan partnership reflects a collective commitment toward building resilient, sustainable, and future-ready urban ecosystems.
