Punjab to hold special camps for Ex-Servicemen’s grievances, says Mohinder Bhagat

Chandigarh, June 9, 2026: Punjab Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters and Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Tuesday directed officials to organise special camps at the sub-divisional level to address the grievances of ex-servicemen and their families.
Chairing a review meeting of the Defence Services Welfare Department and the Punjab Ex-Servicemen Corporation (PESCO), Bhagat said the Bhagwant Mann-led government is committed to the welfare of ex-servicemen and ensuring prompt resolution of their issues. He said administrative officers would be present at the camps to provide on-the-spot solutions to genuine grievances.
During the meeting, officials briefed the minister on ongoing projects, budgetary requirements, employee promotions, recruitment plans and the proposed renovation of Sainik School.
Reviewing PESCO’s performance, Managing Director Major General Harmandeep Singh informed that the corporation currently employs over 23,000 personnel, including more than 14,000 recruited since 2022.
Bhagat directed officials to accord top priority to all matters related to the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
