Punjab women to receive first installment of financial assistance from July 1, announces Kejriwal

Chandigarh, June 22, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that eligible women in Punjab will begin receiving financial assistance under the party's women-focused welfare initiative from July 1.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Kejriwal congratulated the mothers, sisters and daughters of Punjab, stating that the first installment would include payments for three months at once.
According to the announcement, women belonging to the general category will receive Rs 3,000, while women from Scheduled Caste (SC) families will receive Rs 4,500 as part of the initial disbursement. He further stated that if more than one eligible woman resides in a family, each woman would receive the honorarium separately.
Kejriwal described the initiative as a major step towards women's empowerment and claimed it would be the largest programme of its kind in the world.
