CGC University Mohali Inaugurates IBM Centre for Emerging Technologies

Mohali (Punjab), July 31, 2026: Strengthening its vision of becoming a leading hub for industry-integrated education, CGC University Mohali has inaugurated the IBM Centre for Emerging Technologies, an initiative aimed at transforming higher education through industry-focused learning, advanced technologies and hands-on training.
The new centre is expected to equip students with future-ready skills and provide specialised training in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, Data Science and Quantum Computing.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by CGC University Mohali Managing Director Arsh Dhaliwal, Executive Vice-President Dr Sushil Prashar, senior leaders from IBM, faculty members and academic officials.
The centre will particularly benefit students of engineering and management by providing them with opportunities to gain practical knowledge and develop technical expertise in rapidly evolving technologies. Students will also have the opportunity to earn globally recognised certifications from IBM.
Speaking on the occasion, Arsh Dhaliwal said the university’s objective has always been to create an academic environment in which education evolves in line with the changing requirements of industry.
“The inauguration of the IBM Centre for Emerging Technologies reflects our commitment to providing students with practical skills, technical expertise and industry exposure,” he said.
Dhaliwal added that the centre would offer industry-oriented learning through live projects, real-world case studies and hands-on training, helping students gain practical experience and prepare for future career opportunities.
