Terror Network Suspected Behind Chandigarh Home Invasion of BJP Leader: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan
Chandigarh, 10 October 2025: National BJP leader Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan has raised a serious alarm regarding an alleged security threat to his life after a group of unidentified men reportedly trespassed into his Chandigarh residence on Wednesday evening.
According to Grewal, around 15 unidentified persons arrived in three vehicles and eight of them entered his residence while he was away attending the funeral of his revered uncle, (Taya Ji) Sardar Karam Singh Grewal Ji, father-in-law of former DGP Punjab Shri. Hardeep Singh Dhillon, IPS.
Grewal said that the incident took place on 9 October 2025, when the intruders were allegedly allowed inside by Urmila Mukherjee, who can be seen in the CCTV footage opening the gate and instructing the men. The video footage, which has been submitted to the police, reportedly shows these individuals conducting reconnaissance inside the premises and interacting suspiciously with household staff.
Grewal’s son, Maninder Raj Singh Grewal, immediately called the police helpline (112), following which a police team reached the spot and questioned the people present. However, Grewal alleged that the servant Urmila Mukherjee refused to cooperate with the police and did not disclose any details about the trespassers, raising suspicions of her involvement or possible intimidation by anti-social elements.
In his complaint addressed to SHO Satinder Kumar, Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh, Grewal named Mohammad Salman Khan, Urmila Mukherjee, Tarsem Singh Soni (Phagwara), Jimmy Phagwara, Preet Chautala, and their associates, demanding strict interrogation and investigation.
He stated that this was the third formal complaint he had submitted in recent weeks, but no effective action had been taken so far. Grewal said that he had already informed authorities about threats to his life from international terrorist organizations, including Babbar Khalsa, Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh alias Rinda, Pakistan’s ISI and Sikhs for Justice Chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, but no concrete steps were taken to ensure his security.
“I am under a clear, credible and imminent threat to my life. The repeated inaction of local authorities despite my earlier complaints is deeply concerning,” Grewal said in his written statement. “The incident that took place yesterday appears to be a planned reconnaissance operation, possibly linked to those trying to harm me.”
Grewal further said that the situation has become extremely serious and urged senior officials to act swiftly. “I request immediate and decisive intervention from Chandigarh Police, Punjab Police, and central agencies such as NIA and RAW. My family and I are living under constant fear,” he stated.
In his communication, Grewal also sought round-the-clock security deployment at his residence, identification and arrest of the trespassers, and a review of all previous complaints pending with the police. He has submitted CCTV evidence and a pen drive containing footage of the incident for official examination.
Expressing his deep disappointment over the lack of response from local authorities, Grewal said, “I have always stood for national integrity and the principles of the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji. It is extremely disheartening that despite repeated alerts, no protective action has been taken. I strongly urge the administration to prevent any untoward incident before it is too late.”
The complaint has been forwarded to several senior officials, including Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai Ji, Home Secretary of India Shri Govind Mohan (IAS), RAW Chief Shri Parag Jain (IPS), NIA Director General Shri Sadanand Vasant Date (IPS), SP NIA Chandigarh Shri Dinesh Gupta (IPS), Chandigarh DGP Dr. Sagar Preet Singh Hooda (IPS), SSP Chandigarh Shmt. Kanwardeep Kaur (IPS), Punjab DGP Shri Gaurav Yadav (IPS), and Hon’ble Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Shri Gulab Chand Kataria Ji.
Grewal has appealed to both Chandigarh Police and central investigative agencies to take immediate and serious steps to ensure his personal safety and bring those responsible to justice.
