Mohali, September 8, 2024: Punjab Civil Medical Services Association has announced the suspension of OPD services in Government hospitals for 3 hours in the morning from September 9 onwards.
Punjab Civil Medical Services Association held a meeting with the office bearers of all its districts and made a slight change in the strike announced from September 9 tomorrow for half a day from tomorrow for the next three days, meaning 8 to 11 am.
It has been decided to keep OPD services closed in government hospitals for three hours.
Earlier, they had announced a complete shutdown for an indefinite period, but after the Health Minister appealed and was invited to hold a meeting with the Finance Minister as a subcommittee of the Cabinet, the doctors decided to make slight changes.
Apart from this, there will be no elective operations. According to the organization, there will be no general medical examinations like recruitment-related examinations, medical examinations for driving license and weapons license.
There will be no dope test and no VIP duty. Apart from this, no reports will be sent except for dengue.According to doctors, emergency services will continue as before.
"We want to maintain a comfortable environment for talks, but despite the assurance given by the health minister on behalf of the government, the government did not issue any notification regarding the time-bound promotions in repeated meetings. If the government maintains its lax attitude even after this, it will be difficult to trust anything they say. This movement will not stop until our demands are fulfilled," told the association.
The organization has made it clear that if the meeting on September 11 remains inconclusive, and no notification regarding promotions is received, then a complete strike will be held from the 12th.
