DEO Ferozepur holds meeting with journalist community in Ferozepur
100% polling stations webcasting for smooth polls in Ferozepur Lok Sabha polls
Ferozepur 31 May 2024: A total of 16,70,008 voters will exercise their right to vote during the polls to be held on June 1 for the Lok Sabha elections, for which 1,903 polling stations have been set up and all preparations are complete.
Keeping in mind the heat, necessary arrangements have also been made at all the district polling booths for the voters' safety and convenience. A single vote is crucial for the strengthening of democracy, so every citizen must exercise his right to vote on June 1. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Rajesh Dhiman during a special meeting with the journalist community given the Lok Sabha Elections-2024. District Public Relations Officer Amrik Singh and Tehsildar Elections Chand Prakash were also present on this occasion.
Special arrangements have been made for the successful conduct of Lok Sabha elections. He said that given the extreme heat, special arrangements have been made for polling booths and tents, seating arrangements, drinking water, ramps, wheelchairs etc. He said that all NGOs, youth clubs, social service organizations and volunteers of the district will also support the said arrangements during the elections. He said that arrangements will be made to transport the voters with special needs and elderly voters to the polling booth and leave their homes on the day of the polls. He said that special model, green and pink, youth and disabled booths have also been arranged to encourage the voters.
He said that 100 per cent of live webcasting and CCTV are given ensuring transparent and fair elections and security. He said that voters should exercise their right to vote without any fear or greed and should prefer to cast their vote in the morning considering the summer weather.
