Nawanshahr, May 16, 2024: Shiromani Akali Dal Lok Sabha Constituency candidate Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra criticized the state government's 'failure' to meet the demands of its employees.
Prof. Chandumajra, accompanied by Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi, addressed several election meetings across various villages including Bhataro, Heria, Liddar Kalan, Mukandpur, Sadhpur, and Kultham.
He lambasted the AAP government, accusing it of deceiving state employees to secure power.
Describing the government as anti-employee, Prof. Chandumajra alleged that despite extravagant spending on social media, the Aam Aadmi Party-led government has neglected timely payment of salaries and pensions to its employees. He accused the government of shying away from disclosing government job statistics for the past two years and asserted that the previous Shiromani Akali Dal administration had provided nearly three and a half lakh jobs in the state.
Prof. Chandumajra highlighted the AAP's pre-election promises of reinstating the old pension scheme and providing dearness allowance, which he claims have been conveniently forgotten since assuming power. He warned that the AAP's tenure, built on falsehoods, would be short-lived and predicted its defeat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing the constituency, MLA Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi praised Prof. Chandumajra's commitment to serving the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, noting his consistent presence among the people. He expressed confidence in Prof. Chandumajra's victory and pledged to support his bid for Parliament.
The event was attended by several prominent figures including Banga MLA Sukhwin Kumar Sukhi, District Presidents S Sukhdeep Singh Sukar and Sohan Lal Dhanda, among others.
