AAP MLA receives death threat from foreign-based gangster

Payal (Punjab), May 3, 2026: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Payal, Manvinder Singh Giaspura, has reportedly received a death threat from a gangster operating from abroad, triggering concern among his supporters and local political circles.
According to information, the threat was conveyed via a mobile phone call. Sources indicate that not only the MLA but also several of his associates and party workers have received similar warnings, creating an atmosphere of fear in the constituency.
Taking serious note of the situation, Giaspura has written a formal letter to the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab, seeking immediate intervention. In his communication, the MLA has urged authorities to enhance his personal security as well as protection for his staff and key party members in the area.
He has also called for a thorough investigation into the matter to identify those responsible and uncover any larger conspiracy behind the threats.
