Addl. GM reviews redevelopment plans at Amritsar Railway Station
Project to offer world-class facilities including escalators, lifts, parking, and Divyang-friendly amenities
Ferozepur, November 2, 2025: Northern Railway’s Additional General Manager, Mohit Chandra, visited Amritsar Railway Station today to inspect the existing passenger amenities and review the upcoming station redevelopment project. During the inspection, he examined the identified site for redevelopment and assessed the proposed facilities in detail.

The redevelopment plan includes a modern circulating area, air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned waiting halls, escalators and lifts, a Divyang-friendly environment, and a spacious parking area with improved circulation near the main entrance. Separate drop-off and pick-up lanes will also be created to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance passenger convenience. Additionally, the project will feature new platforms, a foot overbridge, and other modern infrastructure upgrades.
Chandra stated that the redevelopment project will not only transform Amritsar Railway Station into a modern and passenger-friendly hub but also serve as a milestone in providing world-class facilities to travellers.
The inspection was attended by Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar, CAO (Construction) S. Mishra, Senior Divisional Engineer (III) Mrs. Navalpreet Kaur, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini, and other officials and staff members.
