Blood donation camp organized at Haryana Civil Secretariat
Chief Secretary inaugurates the camp

Chandigarh, September 25, 2024: A blood donation camp was held today at the Haryana Civil Secretariat, organized through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Blood Bank Society and the Blood Society Resource Center. The camp was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Secretary, Dr. T.V.S.N. Prasad, who was the chief guest.
During the event, Dr. Prasad emphasized the importance of blood donation, stating it ‘Mahadaan’, as it not only saves lives but also enhances the health of the donor.He said that donating blood stimulates the formation of new blood cells, contributing to overall fitness.
Additionally, he highlighted the health benefits, including maintaining iron balance in the body and reducing the risk of heart attacks.
Dr. Prasad urged all citizens to participate in this noble act, commending the efforts of the Rotary Blood Bank Society and the Blood Society Resource Center for their invaluable work.
The camp successfully collected 68 units of blood, with a significant participation from women. Dr. Prasad also took the time to engage with employees donating blood and presented them with certificates in recognition of their contribution to this vital cause.
