Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, March 8, 2025: Senior SAD Bikram Singh Majithia and others have strongly condemned the removal of Jatehdars removal by the SGPC interim committee.
In a joint statement, senior leaders, including Bikram Singh Majithia, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, and Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal, emphasized their unwavering respect for Sri Akal Takht Sahib and called for Panthic unity to uphold its dignity.
The leaders stated that while their reverence for Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its Jathedars remains absolute, they do not agree with the recent decision, as it has caused deep distress among the Sikh Sangat.
They stressed that Guru Sahib Ji has given the Sangat the status of Guru, and any decision impacting the Panth should be made with collective consensus.
Call for Unity and Reconciliation
Highlighting the growing internal tensions within the party, the leaders acknowledged that a lack of Panthic unity has led to the current crisis. They urged all factions within SAD, including those from the reform movement and Panthic leadership, to take responsibility for the situation and work towards a common resolution.
"We must rise above our differences and work together to preserve the legacy of the Shiromani Akali Dal, which was founded at Sri Akal Takht Sahib," the statement read.
Concerns Over Party’s Future
The statement also warned that internal conflicts have weakened the party, emboldening anti-Panthic forces and damaging both Panthic unity and the SAD’s standing in Punjab.
The leaders appealed for a return to a united front, urging all party members to set aside rivalries, honor past sacrifices, and prioritize the welfare of Punjab and the Panth.
