CGC Jhanjeri hosts six-day AICTE-sponsored FDP

Mohali (Punjab), July 22, 2025: Chandigarh Group of Colleges Mohali, Jhanjeri organized a six-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) sponsored by AICTE and ATAL. Titled "Evolve - Next-Gen Electric Mobility," this FDP brought together approximately 50 enthusiastic faculty members, subject experts, and industry professionals to gain in-depth knowledge about the future of electric vehicles in India.
Organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chandigarh College of Engineering this FDP aimed to bridge the significant gap between emerging electric vehicle technologies and effective classroom teaching practices.
The meticulously planned event was orchestrated by luminaries such as Dr. Sajjan Singh, Dr. Anmol Gautam, Dr. Preetinder Kaur, and Dr. Ashanand, who ensured a rich learning experience combining theoretical knowledge, practical exposure, and crucial policy insights. They emphasized India's ambitious efforts towards electric mobility and net-zero carbon goals, highlighting the need for educators who can inspire young minds to think sustainably and work innovatively.
Over six intensive days, the FDP offered an engaging journey through the evolving landscape of electric mobility.
Renowned speakers, including Dr. Arvind Dhingra (GNDEC, Ludhiana), Dr. Rishabh Verma (SLIET, Longowal), and Dr. Ritula Thakur (NITTTR, Chandigarh), shared invaluable information on core areas such as system design, power grid integration, battery management, and AI-based diagnostics.
The sessions seamlessly incorporated practical simulations, research article reviews, and live case discussions, which motivated participants to look beyond textbooks and explore how real-world EV technologies can be explained in classrooms.
Additionally, CGC Jhanjeri initiated discussions on policy and future-ready education.Dr. Heena Khanna's detailed session focused on the National Education Policy 2020.
On the concluding day, under the guidance of Dr. Saurabh Ratra from Punjab Agricultural University, participants deepened their understanding of smart charging infrastructure and the global standards required for effective EV deployment.
The FDP concluded with research assessments, reflective sessions, and a warm valedictory ceremony where all participants received certificates for their dedication and active involvement.
