Chandigarh, May 13, 2024: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday attends the last rites of renowned Punjabi poet and Padma Shri Dr.Surjit Patar who was cremated with full state honors at the crematorium of Model Town Extension of Ludhiana.
Expressing the grief, CM Mann said "Honorable son of the Punjabi language Surjit Patar Saab Ji passed away last century... The loss is irreversible for the family and Punjabis... Today I attended the last rites of Patar Sahib Ji in Ludhiana and shared my condolences with the family... May Waheguru give the departed soul a place in his feet and give strength to the family to accept the wishes.... Although Patar Saab Ji is no more physically but his writings expressing pain towards Punjab and Punjabiism will always remain alive in our hearts...,"
