Chandigarh University Empowers Students with Global Opportunities and Scholarships
Pathankot, Punjab, May 15, 2025 – Chandigarh University showcased its transformative impact on education, global outreach, and innovation at a press conference in Pathankot. Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Bawa, Advisor to the Chancellor, addressed the media, emphasizing the university’s role in turning students’ dreams into reality through scholarships, international collaborations, and exceptional placements.
Global Exposure for Over 2000 Students
Chandigarh University has enabled more than 2000 students to pursue education and internships at renowned universities and industries across 100+ countries. With partnerships with 550 top global institutions, the university facilitates academic exchange programs, enriching students’ global perspectives.
CUCET-2025: 100% Scholarships
Through the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET-2025), students can secure up to 100% scholarships. The university allocates ₹210 crore annually for scholarships, with ₹170 crore for the Mohali campus and ₹40 crore for the Lucknow campus. Over the past 12 years, Chandigarh University has supported over 1.3 lakh students from 28 states and 8 union territories.
Stellar Placements in 2024-25
The 2024-25 placement drive resulted in 897 job offers from top national and international companies. Notably, 57 students from Punjab’s Majha region and 17 from Pathankot secured 19 offers from multinational firms. Success stories include:

The university has filed over 4300 patents in the last decade, including 430 by Punjab researchers. In 2024, it filed 625 in-house patents and 1416 with Enoble-IP, with 128 recognized. A ₹15 crore research budget was allocated in 2024. Additionally, 150 startups have been incubated, with 134 launched by Punjab students under the CU-Technology Business Incubator.
Support for Security Forces and NCC
Chandigarh University has awarded scholarships worth ₹5.70 crore to 5,723 children of security personnel. Over the past seven years, 43 NCC wing students have been commissioned into the Indian Air Force, Navy, and Army.
Empowering Punjab’s Youth
With 10,800 Punjab students enrolled, including 2,192 in the 2023-24 session, the university supports 54 students with free education. The CUCET scholarship initiative aids economically disadvantaged students, ensuring access to quality education.
Pathankot’s Rising Stars
The press conference spotlighted Pathankot’s 17 students who secured 19 job offers from multinationals, underscoring the university’s impact in the region. Prof. (Dr.) Bawa reaffirmed the university’s commitment to removing financial barriers for talented students.
