NGOs, NRIs and Artists join hands for flood victims
DC hails Hambla Foundation’s ‘Rehabilitation Camp’ in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 12, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma lauded the commendable efforts of NGOs, social workers, and NRIs in supporting flood-hit families while attending the “Rehabilitation Camp” launched by Hambla Foundation at village Hazara Singh Wala.
The foundation, formed jointly by Punjabi artists, social activists, and the diaspora, has initiated this camp to assist families devastated by the recent floods. The inaugural event saw the presence of DC Deep Shikha Sharma, SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, noted singers Nachhatar Gill and Inderjit Nikku, along with hundreds of villagers from Hazara Singh Wala and nearby areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the camp is not only providing relief but also boosting the morale of affected families. She urged more organizations and youth to join the mission so that victims can rebuild their lives.
Camp organizers Dr. Surjit Singh Sidhu and Gurnam Sidhu informed that the initiative aims to ensure healthcare, farm support, fodder, seeds, diesel, ration, and medicines, while restoring housing facilities in villages. Punjabi artists and NRIs from Canada, the UK, and the USA have extended both financial and material aid. The SGPC also served Guru Ka Langar at the camp.
