DSCW hosts 4-Day "Ecovision: Hands-on Workshop for Tomorrow’s Eco-Leaders”
Ferozepur, January 14, 2026 : A four-day Nature Camp titled "Ecovision: Hands-on Workshop for Tomorrow’s Eco-Leaders” sponsored by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, was organized, at Dev Samaj College for Women, Ferozepur. The event was spearheaded by the college’s Zoology Department and Eco Club.

Distinguished guests included Dr. K.S. Bath (Joint Director, PSCST), Dr. B.K. Tyagi (Retired Scientist, DST), and several academic experts from Jammu and Ferozepur.
On the initial days, students explored biodiversity, plant taxonomy, and the economic importance of various species. Interactive sessions featured the use of scientific equipment for insect study, measuring tree heights, and setting up aquariums.
The latter half of the camp focused on field observations and ecological testing. Participants engaged in "nature walks," collected samples, and prepared detailed taxonomic reports. Experimental sessions also covered soil and water testing, followed by discussions on sustainable development led by State Awardee Umesh Kumar.
The camp concluded with a valedictory session where Dr. K.S. Bath and Dr. B.K. Tyagi honoured participating teachers and students with certificates. Principal Dr. Sangeeta commended Project Coordinators Dr. Mokshi and Dr. Ramneek Kaur for the successful execution of the program, reiterating the college's commitment to environmental education in Ferozepur.
