Dr.Kuldeep Singh joins as Associate Director (Public Relations) at PAU

Ludhiana (Punjab), January 31, 2025: Dr Kuldeep Singh, former Head, the Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has joined as Associate Director (Public Relations), Communication Centre, PAU. Dr Singh has been appointed by Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, to fortify PAU’s linkages with the public at large.
Dr Kuldeep Singh started his service with the University in 1996 as Assistant Professor of Extension Education at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kapurthala. Further, he served as Deputy Director (Training) at KVK, Samrala (Ludhiana) and later at Nurmahal (Jalandhar) where he was promoted as Associate Director (Training).
Holding vast experience of 32 years in the field of extension education especially extension services, Dr Singh has been instrumental in addressing issues like depleting water table, paddy straw management and generating awareness among the farming community regarding judicious use of natural resources.
He has also contributed vitally to the organization of numerous training courses, field days, campaigns, seminars and exhibitions for the transfer of technologies recommended by PAU.
Further, he has been credited with the development of KVK, Jalandhar as a model institution with state of art ‘Technology Park’, Integrated Farming System model, Demonstration units, Crop Cafeteria, product sale centre, technology hut etc.
Having flair for writing, he has published/presented 95 research papers, abstracts and popular articles in national and international journals and conferences, and worked on six projects.
He is also a recipient of Dr (Mrs) Satwant Kaur Memorial Best Extension Worker Award in 2015; GS Khush Team Award for Excellence in Transfer of Technology to the farmers during 2016-2017; Nanaji Deshmukh ICAR Award for outstanding Inter-disciplinary Team Research in Agricultural and Allied Sciences- 2019; and Certificate of Appreciation from PAU.
