Ferozepur police set up City Sealing Points to maintain law and order during LS Polls
Ferozepur, May 30, 2024: Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, scheduled for June 1 in Punjab, the Ferozepur police have set up City Sealing Points in the city, to ensure the election process safely and systematically. This action has been taken to maintain law and order, to keep a check on any illegal activities and for the safety of all the citizens, said Soumya Mishra, SSP.
SSP said, In all, as many as 3,700 security personnel have been deployed in the district which include 1,470 jawans and 265 Home Guard jawans, 1,025 jawans of 12 Companies of para-military forces, 395 Home Guards Jawans from different states of Haryana and Rajasthan and 567 personnel from Intelligency Wing, Vigilance Wing and CDO Bahadurgarh.
She said, that security arrangements have been made in the district for the conduct of free, impartial and peaceful Lok Sabha elections, which include setting up Sealing Points to check the movement of vehicles, within the city and from outside, illegal weapons, weapons or any to stop any prohibited items and to ensure that there is no untoward incident or suspicious nature activities. These sealing points have been linked with the internet and CCTV cameras. In the sensitive and more sensitive areas, additional sealing points have been established, with 24x7 hrs besides intensifying the patrolling in these areas.
SSP appealed to the general public to cooperate with the police at the sealing points. However, we regret for any inconvenience but these arrangements are necessary for the safety and integrity of the election process. She further said, that in case of any suspicious nature activity or noticing of a suspicious nature person, intimation to the nearest police station or at the Helpline Number 112, must be given.
