Chandigarh, May 29, 2024 - The Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana, Anurag Agarwal announced that the sixth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha General Elections, held on May 25 in Haryana, recorded an average voter turnout of 64.80 percent.
According to the Election Commission, the counting of votes will take place nationwide on June 4. Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure smooth counting in the state, including a two-layer security system in the EVM strong rooms.
The Chief Electoral Officer noted that the voter turnout was slightly lower than the previous election due to the heatwave. Nonetheless, he commended the voters of Haryana for their cooperation with the commission's staff in conducting a free and transparent election.
He reported that Sirsa (Lok Sabha constituency 03) recorded the highest voter turnout at 69.77 percent, with 1,351,932 voters casting their votes. Among them, there were 729,125 men, 622,786 women, and 21 voters in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Sirsa was 1,937,689.
Similarly, in Ambala (Lok Sabha constituency 01), 1,344,503 voters participated, resulting in a voter turnout of 67.43 percent. This included 723,622 men, 620,875 women, and 6 voters in the 'other' category, with a total voter count of 1,996,708 in Ambala.
In Kurukshetra (Lok Sabha constituency 02), the voter turnout was 67.01 percent, with 636,532 men, 565,857 women, and 12 voters in the 'other' category casting their votes. The total number of voters in Kurukshetra was 1,794,300.
Hisar (Lok Sabha constituency 04) saw a voter turnout of 65.27 percent, with 636,644 men and 532,137 women among the 1,168,784 voters who cast their votes. The total number of voters in Hisar was 1,790,722, including 3 in the 'other' category.
In Karnal (Lok Sabha constituency 05), out of 2,104,229 total voters, 1,341,174 exercised their voting rights, resulting in a voter turnout of 63.74 percent. Among them were 721,745 men, 619,410 women, and 19 voters in the 'other' category.
Similarly, in Sonipat (Lok Sabha constituency 06), the voter turnout was 63.44 percent, with 1,120,791 voters participating, including 610,295 men, 510,488 women, and 8 in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Sonipat was 1,766,624.
In Rohtak (Lok Sabha constituency 07), 1,241,201 voters cast their votes, resulting in a voter turnout of 65.68 percent. This included 668,815 men, 572,384 women, and 2 voters in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Rohtak was 1,889,844.
In Bhiwani-Mahendragarh (Lok Sabha constituency 08), the voter turnout was 65.39 percent, with 1,172,526 voters participating. This included 627,622 men, 544,903 women, and 1 in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Bhiwani-Mahendragarh was 1,793,029.
In Gurgaon (Lok Sabha constituency 09), 1,596,240 voters exercised their voting rights, resulting in a voter turnout of 62.03 percent. Among them were 858,499 men, 737,734 women, and 7 voters in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Gurgaon was the highest in the state at 2,573,411.
Similarly, in Faridabad (Lok Sabha constituency 10), the voter turnout was 60.52 percent, with 1,470,649 voters casting their votes. This included 814,402 men, 656,241 women, and 6 in the 'other' category. The total number of voters in Faridabad was 2,430,212.
