Has Punjab woman IAS officer resigned to join politics to contest Lok Sabha polls ?

Chandigarh, April 3, 2024: There a lot of speculations in political circles that the senior Punjab women officer who has resigned from IAS may join politics to contest Lok Sabha polls in case her resignation is accepted by the Bhagwant govt. There are speculations that if relieved from service, may join a join a political party, may it be SAD or some other party.
A major national English daily, has even mentioned that the IAS officer Parampal Kaur Sidhu may join BJP and the party may allot her ticket to contest from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming elections in June 2024.
Parampal Kaur Sidhu is the daughter-in-law of former Akali minister and senior Akali leader Sikandar Singh Maluka and wife of former Zilla Parishad Bathinda Chairman Gurpreet Singh Maluka.
There is no official information from BJP or from Maluka family. Despite efforts, neither Mrs Sidhu nor any member of the Maluka family could be contacted for confirmaiton.
It has already been reported by Babushahi Network as breaking news that Parampal Kaur Sidhu resigned from her IAS requesting for premature retirement on personal grounds as her retirement is in October, 2024. It has been also learnt that the file of her resignation has already been sent to CMO Punjab by CS Punjab.
It is to be seen whether the Bhagwant government will accept her resignation or not.
