Chandigarh, July 24, 2024: Sirsa Lok Sabha MP Kumari Selja started the discussion on the budget in Parliament on Wednesday. She accused the central government of demanding the abolition of Agniveer recruitment and legal guarantee of MSP. Their slogan is to save the chair and spend it on friends, as has been proved by this budget. Other states have been ignored.
Regarding the increasing crimes in Haryana, she said that it was once said that Haryana is the best country among the countries, where people eat milk and curd, take out some time and visit our Haryana once, now in ten years, BJP has turned our Haryana into a place full of goons and criminals. The hideout of miscreants. Now the Jumla government of the state and the centre has destroyed the entire state.
She started the discussion on the budget in the House and lashed out at the government for half an hour. She said that instead of recruiting Agniveers, direct recruitment should have been done in the army, this should be abolished, this is nothing but playing with the future of the youth. The issue of MNREGA workers was also raised in the House.
She said that there was talk of making Faridabad and Karnal smart cities, what is the condition of these cities today. The work of garbage management in Haryana has come to a complete standstill.
"The state government has not taken any action on every issue. It was announced that a medical college would be set up in the district. The government forgot about it after getting the foundation stone of the medical college in Sirsa laid by His Excellency the President. Not only this, the foundation stone of the Ayush college in Kurukshetra was laid by the Prime Minister himself, but it also forgot that," she added.
Later, regarding the budget, she said that the countrymen were eagerly waiting for the budget to be presented by the Finance Minister but they got nothing. The dreams of the youth, the hopes of women and the needs of the middle class were again ignored. It has gone. Today again the whole of India is forced to think that how long will we keep waiting like this? The government has again betrayed the farmers, why is the government running away from the demands of the farmers, Minimum Support Price (MSP) No solid guarantee has been given, no relief has been given to debt-ridden farmers, and there is no control on the rising prices of diesel, pesticides and fertilizers. This budget has once again ruined the lives of all the food producers of India including Haryana. It has reopened the wounds of the crops.
She said that the youth had a lot of expectations from the budget but the government has only deceived the youth, there is no clear roadmap for creating new employment opportunities, the promise of internship to the youth (Congress A promise stolen from the Judgment Papers) with changes that will not do any good.
The employment generation schemes are only on paper, nothing is visible in reality. This time also, the BJP has given a bundle of disappointment, frustration and neglect in the form of a budget to the youth of Haryana, the state with the highest unemployment rate in the country.
She has said that the government does not have any concrete policy for the safety of women, in the name of women empowerment there are only skill development and hostel schemes. The real problems of women have not been solved. Through this budget, all Nari Shakti including women of Haryana have been affected.
"An attempt has been made to indirectly curb the empowerment of the middle class. This budget is also disappointing for the middle class. No relief has been given in income tax, minor cuts have been made for show whose real benefits are not visible. The financial problems of the middle class have not been solved. The budget which should have become a solution has itself become a problem for every class. All sources of income of all classes are getting narrower. Rural development has been ignored in the budget The basic needs of rural areas have not been taken care of. Only expenditure on infrastructure, but nothing to improve rural living standards. There is no concrete plan for the development of villages." she said.
Kumari Selja said that silence has been maintained on important issues, BJP has kept SC, ST and OBC classes out of the budget, no plans have been made in the budget for health, education and social security. Basic needs of the public have not been met.
"This budget has proved to be a disappointing document for the citizens of Haryana and the entire country. Ignoring the interests of the public, only a sham scheme has been unveiled. There is no hope for Haryana in this budget. Perhaps Bharatiya Janata Party has presented this budget to take revenge of its defeat in Lok Sabha elections, but they probably do not realize that the people of Haryana will give a befitting reply to this budget in the upcoming assembly elections," Kumari Selja.
