Namo Yuva Run Draws Thousands of Participants in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, September 21, 2025: For building a Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India), Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Satnam Singh Sandhu, flagged off Namo Yuva Run in Chandigarh which was enthusiastically attended by thousands of citizens of the City Beautiful including youth, fitness enthusiasts, students, athletes, fitness icons, professionals, senior citizens and people of all age groups.
The dignitaries who attended this Namo Yuva Run -- an initiative organised under on-going Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight) on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday to channelise the strength, energy, and determination of youth towards building a towards a healthy and Nasha Mukt Bharat – included India's star Olympic wrestler and Arjuna awardee Babita Phogat.

This Namo Yuva Run, which started from Chandigarh Club and ended to Sukhna Lake, was part of the nationwide event held on Sunday across 100 cities drawing participation of over 10 lakh young participants simultaneously, making it the largest participative run in the country for promoting the twin messages of fitness and a drug-free India.
On the occasion, Rajya Sabha MP, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “This Namo Yuva Run is a tribute to the PM Modi’s emphasis on health and his call for making the country drug-free. The objective is to spread the message of a drug-free India among youth. It’s India's largest youth-driven fitness and social awareness campaign. Chandigarh is already doing a great job in the anti-drug campaign and today the city has received new energy with this 'Namo Yuva Run'. This is an important step under the 'Seva Pakhwada' being celebrated across the country, dedicated to Prime Minister Modi's birthday. The selection of Chandigarh as one of the 100 cities in the country is a matter of pride. This initiative is aligned with PM Modi's vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, emphasizing the importance of promoting the message of fitness, discipline, and a drug-free India through youth power,".
