Malbros Liquor Factor Stir: Old lady makes an appeal to CM Mann for early notification on closure
Ferozepur, February 6, 2023: Despite announcement for closure of the Zira Malbros Liquor Factory by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on January 17, through a video uploaded on his Twitter account, the official notification is yet to be issued and the protesters at Sanjha Morcha are annoyed over its delay.
Meanwhile, Bhupinder, one of the supporters of Sanjha Morcha at Mansurwal Kalan (Zira) against the closure of Malbros Liquor Factory, has shared on his Twitter – Tractor2Twitter – adding Even after promising to close Malbros distillery, why is Bhagwant Mann not issuing official notification. In a very formal family conversational language, the old lady said, “ Bhagwant Mann Put - “We have blessed you too much, when you have announced to close down the factory. Public has only blessings. But you have not given anything in writing. Now, Bhagwant Mann Put, my request with folded hands, to give us in writing or tell us, you have to make us sit in protest for another one or two years. We are peacefully sitting on protest”.
On the other hand, the farmers are annoyed over the delay in issue of notification as announced by the Chief Minister for closure of Malbros Liquor Factory, polluting the underground water and environment of Mansurwal Kalan area with around 40 villages. It’s fortnight back when CM has announced its closure but the government has not issued any written orders for reasons best known to them. The protesting farmers have decided to intensify their agitation.
The Sanjha Morcha and other allies have called a meeting on February 10 to decide the future course of action at the meeting.
As per the information, the fact-finding committees set up by the state government have submitted their reports to the district administration, which has further been forwarded to the Punjab Pollution Control Board for elucidation. However, some reports are still awaited.
