Expenditure Observer holds meeting with Expenditure Monitoring Cell
Strict vigil should be kept on the election expenses of the candidates: Nandini R Nair
Mansa, May 15, 2024: For the smooth conducting of Lok Sabha Elections, the appointed Expenditure Observer for Lok Sabha Constituency 11-Bathinda Nandini R Nair, IRS today visited Mansa district, where he held a meeting with District Election Officer, Paramveer Singh, Additional District Election Officer, Nirmal Osepchan, SP Jaskirat Singh and all Assistant Returning Officers and expenditure monitoring teams.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Paramveer Singh extended words of welcome. The expenditure observer Nandini R Nair said that a strict vigil should be kept on the election expenses of the candidates and political parties and all kinds of expenses should be recorded in the shadow register as per the rules.
She informed that every activity of the candidates and political parties and the expenses incurred by them during the elections needed to be closely monitored. Apart from this, it should be ensured that the expenses of the candidates are reconciled with the shadow registers and the teams posted in the field should also keep an eye on the campaign materials placed on the campaigning vehicles.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the expenditure monitoring teams that stern action should be taken on any concealment or understatement of any kind of expenditure related to the elections. She said that ARO’s approval is mandatory before election meetings etc.
After the meeting, Expenditure Observer and District Election Officer Mr. Paramveer Singh visited the Complaint Cell and Expenditure Cell and reviewed the overall performance.
On this occasion, Assistant Returning Officer Mansa Manjit Singh Rajla, Assistant Returning Officer Sardulgarh Nitesh Kumar Jain, Assistant Returning Officer Budhlada Gagandeep Singh, Nodal Officer Expenditure Cell Pawan Kumar, Harpreet Singh Excise Officer, Yashpal Income Tax Officer besides Assistant Expenditure Observers of the three constituencies of the district were present.
