IAS officer Medha Roopam, a 2014-batch officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, currently serving as the District Magistrate of Noida (Gautam Buddh Nagar), continues to exemplify how visionary leadership, empathy, and decisive administration can transform lives.
A distinguished alumna of St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and a National-level rifle shooter, she has consistently balanced excellence in academics, sports, and public service, inspiring countless young aspirants across the country.
Reaffirming her unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and the welfare of vulnerable sections of society, Medha Roopam chaired the recent meeting of the Local Level Committee constituted under the provisions relating to legal guardianship for persons with disabilities.
Acting on the recommendations of the Committee, approval was accorded for the issuance of 11 legal guardianship certificates to eligible persons with disabilities, enabling them to receive legal protection, care, and support through their appointed guardians.
Recognising the importance of timely assistance, the District Magistrate also directed the concerned departments and officials to ensure the expeditious disposal of all pending guardianship applications, so that deserving beneficiaries are not deprived of their rights due to procedural delays.
The initiative reflects an administration that places people at the heart of governance—where every decision is guided by sensitivity, accountability, and a commitment to social justice.
By strengthening institutional support for persons with disabilities and their families, the Noida administration is taking meaningful steps towards creating a society that is more inclusive, accessible, equitable, and compassionate.
Such proactive governance not only ensures the effective implementation of welfare measures but also reinforces the fundamental values of dignity, equality, and empowerment for every citizen.
Through initiatives like these, Medha Roopam continues to set an inspiring example of people-centric administration, proving that true leadership is measured not merely by policies enacted, but by the positive impact they create in the lives of those who need them the most.
