Now, ASHA workers to create door-to-door Voter Awareness in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 29, 2024: In a collaborative effort between ASHA workers and the Health Department, a new initiative for voter awareness has been launched under the guidance of District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Assistant Returning Officer cum SDM Guruharsahai Gagandeep Singh.
The program, designed by the SVEEP team, aims to educate women voters directly at their homes through ASHA workers. This strategic approach will not only promote voter awareness but also enhance the delivery of essential health services.
During a meeting at Civil Hospital Guruharshahai, Chief Medical Officer Karanveer and Vicky, responsible for health education expansion, praised the dedication of ASHA workers in improving women's health services across villages and towns in the tehsil, while also addressing the crucial need for informed voters.
They highlighted the Election Commission's directives to integrate voter awareness into health service outreach, ensuring that every patient and visitor understands the significance of the upcoming elections, slated for June 1 in Punjab. This integrated effort is expected to instil a sense of civic duty and responsibility among citizens.
The event also saw the presence of key figures such as SVEEP team coordinator Parvinder Singh Lalchian, Karanveer Singh Sodhi, and others emphasizing the collective commitment to bolstering democratic participation and public welfare.
