Railways simplifies travel with SMS alerts and RailOne App

Ferozepur: In a significant move to improve passenger convenience, Indian Railways has introduced an automated SMS service to inform passengers about their seat status and chart preparation. Passengers now receive timely updates directly on their registered mobile numbers, provided at the time of booking. This service ensures that travellers stay informed about their latest travel status.

Parmdeep Singh Saini, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Ferozepur Division, informed that the railway has also strengthened its Public Address System across all railway stations to continuously announce updates regarding train arrivals, departures, and running status.
He said, in another major initiative, Indian Railways has launched a state-of-the-art mobile application called “RailOne”, offering passengers an integrated digital solution for all their travel needs. The app provides key services such as PNR status check, live train status, unreserved and reserved ticket booking, coach position and platform information, train schedules, ticket cancellation, and refund services — all in one place, making train journeys more convenient and hassle-free.
Meanwhile, railways have urged all passengers to download the “RailOne” App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store to avail of these services.
