New Delhi, August 11, 2025: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries, Ravneet Singh Bittu, has hailed the widespread protests by Punjabis against the controversial land pooling policy, declaring that the Punjab government has been compelled to retreat.
Addressing the issue, Bittu described the Punjab government as "autocratic" and controlled by a "Delhi gang," asserting that the people’s strong resistance has successfully forced the authorities to roll back the policy.
“This was a true people’s movement — and the people have won,” said Bittu. He further warned that in the upcoming 2027 elections, Punjabis will decisively reject the ruling establishment, signaling a major political upheaval in the state.
The land pooling policy, which faced severe backlash from farmers and local communities, had sparked massive protests across Punjab, leading to significant political pressure on the state government to reconsider its stance.
