HC dismisses Lawrence Bishnoi's plea, terms it 'completely premature' (Order copy attached)

Chandigarh, June 3, 2022: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed the petition moved by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, seeking protection after raising apprehension of being killed in a fake encounter by Punjab police.
The petition was dismissed as completely premature and non-maintainable.
After withdrawing a plea from Delhi High Court, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking protection amid reports of his involvement in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
In his petition, Lawrence Bishnoi stated that he fears that he will be killed in a fake encounter by Punjab police.
The petitions states that FIR has been registered against Bishnoi in Sidhu Moosewala murder case on May 29 under various sections.
Bishnoi has further asked the HC that any interrogation needed to be carried out in the case should be done via video conferencing facility.
