IG SPS Parmar Leads Massive Search Drive in Nawanshahr
Four GOs and 160 NGOs Were Part of the Drive
Nawanshahr, July 07, 2022:
To curb the menace of drug smugglers and peddlers , a massive search operation was executed here on Saturday.
Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range Surinder Pal Singh Parmar and Senior Superintendent of Police, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar,Sandeep Sharma were leading the search operation.
Briefing about the drive launched against the drugs, IG, SPS Parmar said that the operation was assisted by four SPs and DSPs accompanied by 160 police personnel.
During it, a search operation was carried out in Aur, Garupar, Langroya, Lakhpur and Jandiala minutely. He said that houses of the most of the suspicious persons were found to be locked but the police would keep a close tab on these persons in the coming days.
SSP Sandeep Sharma said that district police was committed to root out the drugs from the district named after legendary freedom fighter Saheed e Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh by adding that besides routine checking of the suspicious persons, awareness drive would also be continued to sensitise the people regarding the hazards of drug abuse.
