Spl Election Observers review poll arrangements in Ferozepur, for fair and peaceful elections
Asks to monitor use of money, drugs by political parties to entice voters
Ferozepur, May 28, 2024: In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the Special Police Observer appointed by the Election Commission of India for the state of Punjab Deepak Mishra IPS. (Retd) and Special Expenditure Observer B.R. Balakrishnan I.R.S. (Retd.) held a meeting with all the officials to take stock of the arrangements, and security preparations for Lok Sabha elections in Lok Sabha Constituency 10-Firozepur and issued necessary guidelines with strict monitoring on the use of money or drugs by the political parties to entice voters.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Laxmikant Reddy IAS, Police Inspector A.R. Damodar IPS and Controller of Expenditure Nagendra Yadav IRS, RO Lok Sabha Constituency 10-Firozepur-cum-District Election Officer Rajesh Dhiman was also specially present
On this occasion, Special Police Observer and Special Expenditure Observer instructed to strictly implement the ideal election process adding that all the preparations related to the election should be completed as per the schedule given as per the instructions of the Election Commission. Election expenses of candidates and political parties in the Lok Sabha elections should be closely monitored and all expenses should be recorded in the Shadow Register as per the rules.
The need to keep a watchful eye on every activity of the candidates and political parties and the expenses incurred during the elections was also emphasised. Besides to ensure that the expenses of the candidates are reconciled with the shadow registers and that the teams posted in the field should also keep an eye on the campaign materials placed on the campaigning vehicles. He instructed all the officials and employees performing election duty to perform their duty with full diligence and responsibility. He instructed all the District Police Chiefs to be vigilant for the safe and fearless conduct of the Lok Sabha elections and also shared security-related points. He directed to strictly monitor the use of money or drugs by a party to woo voters.
DEO-cum-DC Rajesh Dhiman and SSP Soumya Mishra said that full preparations have been made to make the elections safe and fearless.
