Patiala, May 30, 2024: Shiromani Akali Dal Patiala candidate NK Sharma today said that Dr. Dharmvir Gandhi has attended only 55% sittings of Lok Sabha during his five-year stint as Member Parliament whereas a grant of Rs. 10 crore of Preneet Kaur lapsed during her latest stint as MP during last five years.
Addressing media on five questions each posed to his three main opponents including Preneet Kaur, Dr. Dharmvir Gandhi and Dr Balbir Singh, NK Sharma said that he had given ample time to opponents to give reply to his questions which were only based on performance and character. He said that it is most painful to see that these candidates chose to remain mum on these crucial issues.
Releasing facts, NK Sharma said that Dr. Gandhi only attended 55 percent sitting of Lok Sabha during his five year stint and only asked 18 questions during these five years. He further disclosed that Preneet Kaur asked 27 questions during her stint and attended 18 debates out of total 79 debates.
He said that Preneet was allotted a grant of 17 crores during last five years and Rs. 10 crore grant was lapsed as she failed to distribute the same.
He said that similar performance of Dr. Balbir Singh as Health and Medical Education Minister was before people. He said that he had promised to open 16 Medical colleges during five years but failed to open a single one in last two and a half years and condition of Rajindra Hospital and other dispensaries and health institutions was before the public.
He said that all these three candidates are utter failure and his (NK Sharma)’s performance was before the people. He urged voters to vote for Akali Dal on June 1 so as to ensure all-round development of the Patiala constituency.
