Chandigarh: MC Commissioner orders to submit inquiry report about cattle electrocution at Gaushala Maloya

Chandigarh, February 7, 2025: The MC Commissioner Amit Kumar, IAS today directed the inquiry committee to submit a report within 15 days of the tragic incident at Gaushala Maloya, where eight cattle lost their lives due to electrocution.
This unfortunate event has raised serious concerns about animal safety and infrastructure maintenance within the Gaushala.
To investigate the matter thoroughly, a committee has been constituted to examine the circumstances leading to the electrocution. The order directed the committee to Identify the cause, including possible human error, technical failure, or other factors, Assess the extent of damage and loss and recommend preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
The inquiry committee comprises:
1. Sh. Gurinder Singh Sodhi, PCS, Joint Commissioner-I
2. Sh. Kuldeep Singh, XEN (Electrical)
3. Dr. Inderdeep Kaur, Medical Officer of Health
The committee has been directed to submit its report within 15 days. The Commissioner assures prompt action based on the findings and reaffirms the commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of animals in Gaushalas across the city.
