Ensure Speedy and Timely Completion of Medical College and Civil Hospital at Hoshiarpur: CM to Officers
Bats for calling separate tenders for the prestigious institute and hospital to be built at ₹418.30 crore

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday directed officers to ensure the speedy and timely completion of the Shaheed Udham Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences and Civil Hospital at Hoshiarpur.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of the proposed institute and civil hospital at his official residence, the chief minister said that the institute aims to provide quality healthcare services to the people. He stated that the facility will be developed over an area of 21.41 acres at a cost of ₹418.30 crore and will include a hospital with 300-unit beds and a medical college with an annual intake of 150 students. Bhagwant Singh Mann added that the ultra-modern hospital will have two basements, ground plus eight floors, and a service floor at the existing medical hospital campus in Hoshiarpur.
Similarly, the chief minister noted that the proposed medical college will feature an auditorium and service blocks with two basements and ground plus six floors. Additionally, the medical college will have separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, with provisions for future expansion. Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that to expedite the work, separate tenders should be called for the construction of the medical college and civil hospital.
The chief minister stressed the importance of accelerating the construction pace at the proposed site. He underscored the urgent need to provide quality healthcare services to the residents of the Kandi region. Bhagwant Singh Mann instructed officers to ensure that the work is allotted and executed in a time-bound and efficient manner.
