CGC Mohali, Jhanjeri Inaugurates Advanced 2.25 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant

Taking a major step towards transparency and sustainable development, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Mohali (Jhanjeri) inaugurated a 2.25 Million Liters Per Day (MLD) Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). This initiative reflects the institution’s firm commitment to environmental responsibility and water conservation.
The grand event was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Adarsh Pal, Chairman, Punjab Pollution Control Board; Er. Gurinder Singh Majithia, Member Secretary; and Dr. Lavneet Dubey, Chief Environmental Engineer. The ceremony was presided over by S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman of CGC Mohali, who highlighted the institution’s efforts towards sustainability and environmental awareness.
Addressing the occasion, Chairman S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal stated that CGC Mohali does not merely impart knowledge, but sets an example in society. The launch of this STP plant is a testament to CGC’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainability-driven education. He shared that the 2.25 MLD plant is a technologically advanced model that purifies wastewater, making it reusable for gardening, irrigation, and other non-potable purposes. This initiative is an integral part of CGC Mohali’s green campus mission, which also includes rainwater harvesting, optimal use of solar energy, and comprehensive waste management.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Adarsh Pal appreciated CGC Mohali’s integration of environmental consciousness into its daily operations. Er. Gurinder Singh Majithia stressed the importance of responsible infrastructure in academic institutions, while Dr. Lavneet Dubey described these initiatives as inspirational models for other institutions.
Managing Director Arsh Dhaliwal stated that this modern STP plant marks another significant milestone in CGC Mohali’s journey as an environmentally conscious campus.
