Police crackdown on drugs, illegal arms, 10 held in Ferozepur

Ferozepur (Punjab), April 11, 2025: In a major operation under the Punjab government’s "War Against Drugs" campaign, Ferozepur police have arrested 10 individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal arms possession. Senior Superintendent of Police, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu announced that the police recovered significant quantities of heroin, opium, firearms, ammunition, and other items from the accused.
According to SSP Sidhu, three suspects—Surinder alias Babbu alias Tidda, Deepak Singh alias Deepa (both residents of Gatti Rajo Ke), and Gurpartap Singh (resident of Gulami Wala)—were apprehended with 1.539 kg of heroin, 500 grams of opium, and a motorcycle.
In separate cases, seven other suspects were also arrested. Two brothers, Sajan and Rajan, sons of Sham Lal (residents of Basti Shekhawali), were found in possession of a 9MM Glock pistol, a .30 bore pistol, three live rounds, and a Swift car.
Another suspect, Rachpal Singh alias Pala (resident of Leli Wala), was caught with a .32 bore country-made pistol and eight live rounds.
SSP said, acting swiftly on a tip-off, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ayub Masih and his team arrested four more individuals—Nirbhai Singh alias Gopi, Surajinder Singh alias Jordan, Mandeep Singh, and Jatinder Singh alias Sonu. The police recovered 27.2 kg of copper, two motorcycles, and an outdoor AC fan unit from their possession.
Cases have been registered against all accused under the NDPS Act and BNS Act at various police stations, with further investigations underway.
SSP Sidhu emphasized that the campaign against drugs, illegal arms, and anti-social elements will continue relentlessly, and no offender will be spared.
