Mohali, April 27, 2025:
In a key development in the Lawrence Bishnoi interview case, a police constable has withdrawn his earlier consent for undergoing a polygraph test. The decision came after legal intervention by Advocate Sultan Singh Sangha, representing the constable, Simranjit Singh.
Filing a petition before the Court of Additional Sessions Judge TPS Randhawa, Advocate Sultan Singh Sangha argued that the constable had given his consent for the polygraph test under pressure from senior police officials. It was further submitted that an ADGP-rank officer was present in the lower court at the time when the consent was recorded, raising concerns about the voluntariness of the agreement.
After hearing the arguments presented by Advocate Sangha, the court ordered a stay on the conduct of the polygraph test and summoned the complete record from the lower court. The matter has now been posted for further hearing on April 28, 2025.
This development adds a fresh twist to the ongoing proceedings related to the controversial interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
