Jalandhar (Punjab), June 2, 2025 – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Scheduled Caste Morcha Vice President Paramjit Singh Kainth strongly condemned the desecration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue in village Nagla of Phillaur, Jalandhar district.
He held the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann responsible for failing to prevent such repeated incidents.
Kainth stated that this was the fifth such attack on Dr. Ambedkar’s statue this year, reflecting a disturbing rise in criminal audacity under the current regime. “The Mann government appears helpless, while the morale of those with such a heinous mindset is rising,” he said.
Highlighting the growing unrest among Dalit communities, Kainth warned, “The insult to Babasaheb Ambedkar will not be tolerated at any cost. We are ready to fight back.”
To address the issue, Kainth announced that a delegation of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha will meet the Governor of Punjab to seek protection for statues of national icons and raise concerns over the deteriorating law and order in the state.
He reiterated that the AAP government has failed to uphold law and order and ensure respect for Dalit icons, calling the repeated desecrations a serious concern for social harmony in Punjab.
