MLAs Bhullar, Dhaiya lead anti-drug crusade to mobilize villagers, reclaim vibrant Punjab
Ferozepur, June 3, 2025: As part of Punjab government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, multiple anti-drug awareness rallies were organized in various villages across the Ferozepur district. The events aimed to eradicate the drug menace from its roots and encourage collective community action.
MLA Rajneesh Kumar Dhaiya spearheaded the campaigns in the villages of Sadar Din, Husseynshah Wala, Pir Khan Sheikh, Bailer, Moose Wala, and Rukan Shah Wala in Ferozepur Rural constituency. Addressing the gatherings, Dhaiya emphasized the vital role of youth and local residents in making Punjab drug-free. He praised the involvement of Panchayats, village defense committees, and law enforcement in this crucial mission, urging residents to play an active role in the fight against drugs.
Simultaneously, MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar joined the awareness drives in Dulla Singh Wala, Kutbuddin Wala, Kale Ke Hithaad, and Kamala Bodla villages of his constituency. Bhullar called upon the villagers, especially the youth, to stay away from drugs and assist the administration and police in eliminating this menace. He highlighted that the government is taking strict action against drug traffickers while also ensuring proper treatment for addicts to bring them back into the mainstream.
Dr. Amandeep Kaur Gosal, Coordinator of the Anti-Drug Front in Ferozepur City, also addressed the gatherings, appealing to residents not to support any drug trafficker and to report such activities to the police immediately. She urged Panchayats to motivate addicts to seek treatment at government de-addiction centers.
During the rallies, both MLAs administered pledges to the villagers to stand united against drug traffickers and ensure no support or bail for offenders. DSP Sukhwinder Singh, Block President Baldev Singh Malli, village sarpanches including Gurjant Singh, Satnam Singh, and Gurdev Singh, along with numerous residents, attended the events, reinforcing the collective resolve to make Punjab drug-free and vibrant once again.
