Snatching spree busted in Ferozepur,2 held with looted phones and bike
Ferozepur, June 23, 2025: In a swift response to increasing snatching incidents in the city, Ferozepur Police have arrested two accused involved in two separate snatching cases and recovered two looted mobile phones and one stolen motorcycle.
SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, addressing the media, stated that the arrests were made following complaints received on June 17, 2025. A woman from Urban Estate Phase-2 lodged a complaint regarding her mobile phone being snatched by two bike-borne youths while she was walking near a park around 7 AM. Acting promptly, the Anti-Snatching Team of the district police began the investigation.
The police, using technical surveillance and intelligence inputs, successfully identified and arrested the accused, identified as Aman Kumar alias Aman (23) of Basti Shikh, and Rajdeep Singh alias Raj (31) of Mahavir Colony. They were apprehended on June 22, 2025. A case under sections 304(2), 34 BNS and 379B, 34 IPC has been registered at City Police Station. The arrests led to the recovery of 2 snatched mobile phones, and1 stolen motorcycle.
SSP Sidhu revealed that five recent snatching cases have been solved through this operation, and further investigation is ongoing.
