Manjinder Singh Sirsa exposes Rs. 14.5 crore scam in purchase of 144 Toyota Hilux vehicles for ‘Sadak Surakhya Force’ in Punjab
Asks Arvind Kejriwal to act against guilty or else CBI complaint fill be filed
Chandigarh, July 25: Delhi Cabinet Minister and BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa has exposed Rs. 14.5 crore scam in purchase of 144 Toyota Hilum vehicles for ‘Sadak Surakhya Force’ in Punjab even as he asked AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal to act against the culprits or else a CBI complaint will be filed in the matter.
In a statement released here today, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that Punjab police has purchased 144 Toyota Hilux vehicles for its newly launched ‘Sadak Surakhya Scheme.’ He said that it was shocking that on bulk purchase of vehicles no discount was availed from dealers whereas when a common man purchases such high level vehicles a discount of Rs. 10 lakh is given per vehicle.
He asked Arvind Kejriwal to tell who minted this Rs. 14.5 crore discount money? He said that this is a scam in making wherein cash was taken and on papers no discount was shown. He said that this is direct loss of public exchequer. It is a classic case of grave corruption. He said that the silence of Punjab Chief Minister and DGP has only added to public suspicion of a cover-up.
He said that as National Convener of the party, the Punjab government operates under his direct influence so it becomes his moral and political responsibility to take action against the guilty. He said that if this case reaches CBI or ED then he will make hue and cry of a political vendetta. He said that this was not political vendetta. This is verified evidence of financial misconduct involving tax payer’s money. It is a matter of transparency and trust.
He hoped that a transparent and time bound enquiry will unearth the truth behind this scam.
He said that if the Punjab government fails to conduct this probe then he will file a complaint with CBI to probe this scandal and punish the guilty.
