Chandigarh, November 29, 2025: Highlighting the inconvenience faced by the common man due to transport disruptions, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today issued a strong appeal to contractual and temporary employees of PRTC and PUNBUS. He urged them not to "harass the public" while pressing for their demands.
Surprise Visit Reveals Ground Reality
Sharing a personal experience to underscore the gravity of the situation, CM Mann revealed that he recently conducted a surprise check at the Kurali Bus Stand.
"I was there for inspection and observed that for 30 minutes, not a single bus arrived at the stand," Mann said. He described witnessing passengers, including women and the elderly, in distress as they waited helplessly for transport.
"Doors Open for Dialogue"
Addressing the issues raised by the transport unions regarding the regularization of contractual and temporary employees, the Chief Minister assured that the state government is sympathetic to their cause.
"Come to us, sit with us. We will resolve your demands and issues across the table," Mann stated. However, he drew a firm line regarding public convenience, adding, "My only appeal is: do not inconvenience the people or leave them stranded to make your point."
